How it works.

Swimsthenics
A long-form programme that combines calisthenics and swimming progressions. Designed to build the strength, mobility, and breath control that underpin strong technique. Built-in variety to keep you motivated through the cycle.
The Sicilian Program
A functional fitness programme of dynamic, full-body movements that mimic and enhance natural body mechanics. Train calisthenics on your own time, anywhere you have a few square metres of floor.
Why we still run online programmes. Most of our community swims with us at Mill Hill or at home. But not everyone lives in London, and some of our regulars travel for work. Our online programmes are the answer for swimmers and fitness clients who want to keep training with a Swimcore-built plan when they can't get to a pool.
Six reasons London families choose us.
There are bigger swim schools in London. There are cheaper ones too. What we offer is a tightly run, properly qualified, honestly priced operation, with the credentials to back it up.
Qualified instructors
Every instructor holds STA or Swim England qualifications, a current NPLQ lifeguard certificate, and an enhanced DBS check. Several are trainer assessors who run our NPLQ courses.
Private pool, not a leisure centre
On Friday evenings and half-term weeks, the Mill Hill School pool is ours alone. No public swimmers, no chaos. A calm environment that lets new swimmers focus.
Small classes, real attention
Group lessons cap at four swimmers. Children stream by ability within the age band. Nobody gets lost at the back of a class of twelve.
Honest, transparent pricing
Every price is on this page. No "from" teasers, no quote-only services for the bookable products. What you see is what you pay.
Accredited and audited
RLSS UK approved training centre, STA recognised, CIMSPA partner, Swim England aligned. The four credentials that genuinely matter, all of them, not just one for marketing.
From age 4 to first paycheque
Many swimmers start with us at four, progress through teen lessons, and qualify as lifeguards on our NPLQ at sixteen. A genuine pathway, not a one-off.
What London swimmers say.
Live Google reviews from parents, adult swimmers, and NPLQ graduates. We don't curate them. They are pulled in chronological order from our verified Google profile.

Thank you
A huge thank you to the trainers for all their help and encouragement. I passed my NPLQ and genuinely feel well prepared to work as a lifeguard. I would definitely recommend Swimcore Academy to anyone looking to complete their lifeguard qualification! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Before you book.
The questions parents and adult learners ask us most. If yours isn't here, message us on WhatsApp. We usually reply within a few hours.
What is the difference between Mill Hill lessons and home pool lessons?
Mill Hill lessons are at our private pool inside Mill Hill School in NW7, on Friday evenings and during half-term weeks. Group lessons, 1-to-1, 2-to-1, lane swim, and 5-day intensives all run there. Home pool lessons are when one of our instructors travels to your private pool anywhere in London for a 1-to-1 or 2-to-1 session. Same instructors, same standards, different location.
How much do swimming lessons cost?
Group lessons at Mill Hill are £15 per 30-minute session, max four swimmers per class, for both kids and adults. Adult groups book online directly via our Mill Hill page; kids' groups are by WhatsApp enquiry so we can place your child in the right age band. 1-to-1 lessons are £38 for 30 minutes or £65 for a full hour. 2-to-1 lessons are £28 per person for 30 minutes. 10-lesson 1-to-1 bundles are £350 (30-min, saves £30) or £600 (1-hour, saves £50), bookable instantly via Stripe. Lane swim sessions are £8.50 for 50 minutes. Home pool lessons are quoted per location, message us for a quote.
What can I book online and what needs an enquiry?
Adult group lessons, lane swim, and 10-lesson 1-to-1 bundles all book online directly through our Mill Hill page. Single 1-to-1 lessons, 2-to-1 lessons, kids' age-band placements, half-term intensives, and home pool sessions are by WhatsApp enquiry, so we can match you with the right instructor and slot.
What ages do you teach?
At Mill Hill, we teach from age 4 upwards, including teenagers and adults. Children's groups are organised into three age bands: 4 to 6, 7 to 10, and 11 to 15. Adults learn in small groups of four or 1-to-1. For private home pool sessions, we can also teach babies and toddlers with a parent in the water.
When are Mill Hill lessons available?
Friday evenings between 5:30pm and 10:00pm during term time, plus full availability across school half-term weeks. Half-term weeks host our 5-day intensive crash courses and our NPLQ lifeguard courses. Mill Hill is not a year-round daily venue, the schedule is intentionally focused so each swimmer gets a private pool experience.
Do you offer SEN-experienced instructors?
Yes. Some of our instructors have specific SEN experience, and we routinely teach swimmers with autism, ADHD, sensory needs, and various physical conditions. The first step is a WhatsApp conversation so we can understand your child's needs and match them with the right instructor and lesson format. Tell us as much as you'd like before the first session.
Are your instructors qualified and DBS-checked?
Yes. Every Swimcore instructor is fully qualified through STA or Swim England, holds a current NPLQ lifeguard qualification, and has an enhanced DBS check. We are an RLSS UK approved training centre, STA recognised, CIMSPA partner, and Swim England aligned.
Can I progress from lessons into a swimming career with Swimcore?
Yes, this is one of the things that makes Swimcore Academy different. Many teenagers we now train as lifeguards started lessons with us years earlier. The journey runs from First Splash at age 4, through structured stages, into a Pre-Lifeguard pathway from age 11, then into our NPLQ lifeguard qualification at 16, when swimmers can earn real wages and UCAS points. The full career courses hub is on the Aquatic Training page.
How does cancellation and rescheduling work?
Reschedules need at least 10 days' notice, so we can offer the slot to another swimmer on the waiting list. Up to two reschedules per swimmer per term. Last-minute cancellations inside the 10-day window are non-refundable, except for medical or genuine emergencies with documentation. Full policy on our terms and conditions page.
